the Russia Ukarine thing - we need to get real.

Part of my job is getting value out of russian assets for UK pension funds and investors who have written it to zero, like Crnac. I work with Russians, Ukrainians, Georgians etc. Trump, Zelensky and Putin are all exaggerating and misrepresenting - but we shouldnt be surprised by any of that. Zelensky is as corrupt as they come Im afraid. Putin is an aggressive bastard who will throw lives into the grinder to dominate. Trump just wants to do deals for america and cares little about anything else, his focus is dealing with China.

This war was always going to end with loss of territory to Russia, and a prohibition on NATO membership. It could have happened years ago but didnt. Claiming we should be fighting russia with parlous armed forces because we piss all our taxes away on irrelevant s**t is like being the worst sort of appeaser. In the 30s the best argument for appeasement was to use time to frantically rearm. The politicians in the Commons are doing the opposite - talking tough and doing nothing to defend us. This will end badly for the UK and Europe. We need to make hard, hard choices.
