🟢🟡 JHT will be with us shortly
-----------------------------------

JHT on team news: “It’s the same but without (Emi) Marcondes, who has been feeling some hip pain the past few weeks. The timing is right to to something now about it, with more players back. We are hoping no more than a week or two.”

JHT on Gabe Forsyth: “We still try to do his rehab without surgery. The experts say the same, but we have to listen to the player when he says he feels pain. We are trying injections with him now.”

*Amankwah Forson’s knee is not getting better with ‘more blood’ in that area.

🗣️ “We are at least looking at a few more weeks, but possibly more.”*

JHT on Liam Gibbs: “He is in the light running stage on his own. We cannot push or take a risk with him.”

JHT on Borja Sainz: “He cannot wait, I’ll tell you that. We’ve told him not to spit again. He’s available for the group tomorrow, but it’s too much to expect he can play the full 90 minutes.”

JHT on Borja Sainz: “To be honest, he’s been very clear even before that incident that he’d been struggling with facing the new approach of the opposition. Teams will change the right-back or even the formation to double up on him. That was new for him.”

JHT on Borja Sainz: “We have spoken very specifically with him about tools to deal with situations and avoid confrontation. Towards the end of his games before his suspension, he was seeking that confrontation too much. We’ve told him when to do it and stay out of it.”

JHT on refreshing the squad: “There is competition and some disappointed faces after we announce the team selection, which is never nice. But it’s part of it. Sarge, Nunez and Anis (Slimane) we have to be careful with.”

JHT on Josh Sargent: “I’m happy he scored his second goal before Swansea as we have to take him off (to manage him). Everything we can do to prepare or plan we do.”

JHT on Derby County: “I don’t think we got the balance right in that game. Especially in the first half. We highlighted this even for the game tomorrow, as it can be much the same. Our passing game wasn’t quick enough and neither was our quality or decision making.”

JHT on Preston: “I was really happy about our overall defensive structure against Derby. This is a really important thing going into the Tuesday night game. They have some good runners upfront, so we have to be front footed when we lose the ball.”
