Yesterday

As frustrating as yesterday was it’s all part of the learning curve for a young team and a young Head Coach. It was so noticeable that as soon as we scored everyone’s first instinct was caution and to turn back and shuffle the ball backwards and sideways rather then move the ball at a decent tempo. Hopefully they will learn to go for the jugular more as the 2nd goal kills off teams like that.

Positives were that I thought Doyle and Mahovo were outstanding, Emi’s ball for the goal was so clever and Sarge finish was razor sharpe. I also really liked how Sarge mixed his game up in 2nd half prior to the goal. He dropped in the hole at times to move the Derby defensive line more than he had done in the 1st half.
Frustrating elements for me: Crnac, he still looks like a fish out of water when he starts, on his heels, doesn’t seem to read the game and no threat in the air. Think it will do him good to be used as an option off the bench for a while. Lot of work to do with him still to be a leading player for us next season.
Also idiots around me getting on Fisher’s back. Yesterday wasn’t his best game by any means but he was outstanding last week at Watford and people seem to forget he’s a young lad in his first full season playing week in week out at this level and, like all young players, he’s going to have good games and bad games. Even more frustrating when they moan at him for going into midfield. That’s exactly what the manager is asking him to do, it’s part of his tactics.
