Musk wants to own our government. He has a lot of money.
Reform is not a traditionally-structured party but a private company owned by Farage; he can't simply be replaced.
Musk could try to start his own party - through proxies, natch - but Reform has MPs and a share of voice and the new thing would be starting from scratch. So he's trying to get his own man in in place of Farage despite Farage's ownership and the legal structure of Reform UK. He's doing it by being a shouty w**ker and hoping that resonates with enough people. I don't see Farage falling on his sword any time soon though. The large part of Reform's vote is predicated on Nigel Farage being its leader, so this will be an uphill battle for Musk.
Musk is also trying to tear down Starmer and will try to buy victory for his party at the next election.
