🎙️ Johannes Hoff Thorup will address the media at 13:30 pm.

JHT on Anis Slimane: “It’s an ankle ligament injury, so it’s four to six weeks out. If it goes well then four, if not more like six.”

JHT on Jacob Sorensen: “Yes (it’s flu). But he also has some calf issues. He was about to do some running then felt it. It will keep him out for a few weeks.”

JHT on team news : “No (other issues). Brad Hills is back, who was ill.”

JHT on Borja Sainz: “The latest we heard was that we would get an answer later today. But we except him to be available for tomorrow.”

JHT on Lewis Dobbin: “I’m really pleased as he can give us a different style up front across all three positions. He can even play as a striker. He can be a starter or come off the bench for us.”

JHT on Lewis Dobbin: “He is up there with the best performing players in terms of physical and running numbers. That’s key for us. Then of course, he’s a young player. He’s played on the highest level, but we want to help him be consistent.”

JHT on Lewis Dobbin: “I think he’s best on the left, when he can cut in and shoot with his right.”

*Lewis Dobbin will be in the NCFC squad tomorrow*

JHT on Ashley Barnes: “We sat down with the players with potential to go somewhere else. He actually wanted to stay here, but he wanted more clarity on game time. Based on that he wanted to be in a starting XI place elsewhere.”

JHT on Ashley Barnes: “His energy and personality adds lots to the dressing room. Lots of the players are quite young and when they go to Luton away they don’t know what’s coming. It’s important to have some players who know what it’s all about. He’s one of them.”

*JHT doesn’t expect #NCFC to directly replace Ashley Barnes with another striker. He confirms they are ‘looking at other offensive options’ on a long contract from an overseas league*

JHT on Josh Sargent: “We hope this is the last Championship game without Josh (Sargent). He feels like a new signing.”

JHT on Shane Duffy: “I would go as far to say it’s a good story for the next upcoming players. It shows if you do your work here everyday, then you will play regardless of your age. He’s been holding a consistent level of performance. It’s been a great season for him so far.”

JHT on Marcelino Nunez: “When I watched him from games in last season, he was inconsistent in his passing game. He’s about to get rid of that. He can still be inconsistent in his positioning, so we will work on that next.”

JHT on Coventry: “We looked at when he (Lampard) took over and they are more offensive in their approach. They score some more goals, but also concede goals in games. The passing game means a lot to them. They will be a threat with the players they have out wide.”

JHT on form consistency: “That’s what it’s all about. I know exactly what the guys here can do when they are at their best. They can be outstanding, but I’ve seen the opposite. That’s the bit that takes time with a young group.”

That’s all from the boss at Colney for today.
