he has to say that though, he can't wave the white flag and say "don't worry it's just a dress rehearsal" any more than he can put senior players out in the cold and bench test a few kids here and there to see if he can get a tune out of them. last thing he wants is senior players destabilising the training ground and dressing room, that would surely be the end of him. he has to play the game and trust knapper will come through with the goods re future signings/loans. actually, the last thing he wants is probably knob cancer or set on fire and bunged into a giant log chipper or have to listen to any of ed sheerans s**t.
