What is the point in the academy if we don't give the players the chance/experience

I would say that one of the U18/21s would have been as equally effective this season as Gordon and we own them. If they turn into the next Rowe, then fantastic. If they are the next Bobby Eagle then we've lost nothing. I fail to see how one of the youth players couldn't do the 10 minute 'run around and make a nuisance of yourself' as well as Gordon/Dobbin.
