Another day at Colney, as we await JHT for his thoughts ahead of NCFC’s clash against LTFC 🤝
----------------------------------------------------------
JHT on Liam Gibbs: “We need a scan today, that will be this afternoon. But unfortunately, I fear we are looking at up to 10 weeks out (same hamstring).”
JHT on Liam Gibbs: “We look into how we can support him as it’s never easy with these injuries when are you for more than a few weeks. If anybody can handle it, then it’s him.”
JHT on team news: “No further issues (from Tuesday).”
JHT on Ashley Barnes: “Yes. With Barnes I don’t need to do much, he’s great out there supporting the others. It’s just natural, but it will be good for Ante. He won’t need to play 90 minutes every time.”
*Marcelino Nunez will be available on Saturday 😍*
JHT on Marcelino Nunez: “It will be too ambitious (to start him). We don’t want to rush him, as he needs to find his feet again. We need as many players back for the Christmas period.”
JHT on Jose Cordoba: “There is a small chance he will be available for Saturday. But definitely for the QPR game.”
JHT on fullbacks: “First and foremost they need to be comfortable on the ball and Jack (Stacey) has made some steps in this. He showed this again on Tuesday, as was shown with the fourth goal when he stepped in.”
JHT on Brad Hills: “It was a big night for him being a local boy. It means a lot to him being around. For him to have a feel for what it’s like to play in the Championship means a lot for him.”
JHT on Brad Hills: “We often discuss what’s best. Some players want to play every Saturday and some want to be around the group. We will sit down with him in the middle of December and make a decision. I hope he stays here around the group.”
JHT on Kaide Gordon: “He’s eager to learn. He had a meeting with Glen (Riddersholm) the other night to go through his games and physical stats. Even though he’s a loan player we treat him as if he’s ours for as long as his mindset is open.”
JHT on enjoying the Plymouth game: “I still hate myself for the Hull game where in the 90th minute Kenny (McLean) got a booking. As a coach you need to be hands on with every situation. It’s these small details where you have to be on top and you can’t switch off.”
JHT: “What we took away from the West Brom was the chance creation was on a top level. The worst place to be as a team is when you can’t see where the goals will come from. I don’t see that with this team, I felt Tuesday we’d score every time.”
JHT: “As a coach you have no control (of your future). I don’t like seeing news like that (Hull boss sacked), I wish for clubs to be more patient in these moments as it’s so early. I try to surround myself with people I want to work with, I get that feeling here.”
JHT on Luton Town: “If you are 5% off in this league, then you get punished. You have to be 100% switched on when the game starts. That’s what you see out there, a top team can drop points to a bottom team. It doesn’t matter the name of the team or players.”
JHT on finishing the week on a high: “It would be a good step into the Christmas period with a win on Saturday. It would be fair to say we are back, I’m just pleased with players being back for us. If we get things right, then we can hurt teams we play against.”

That’s all from the boss at Colney for today 🤝
