Give them their due, they did well to take advantage of the opportunity
Every team wins the odd game, I mean we beat Man City, without it affecting the final league positions overly. As I said yesterday, better to actually lose those and win the games against the other cannon fodder instead because you need the points swing against them.
They still have what is broadly an excellent Championship squad playing in the Prem. I still think this is good strategy because they won't lose too many if relegated - Davies and Delap are their good players, for me, I never did get the hype over Hutchinson, there were and are better players in that position than him in the chumps, and one swallow does not a summer make.
But why not assemble a great chumps squad and do your best with it and hope to spawn staying up, with the more likely case well covered because by the start of next season all those players will have gelled and there won't be too many changes and they'll be really well placed to give the chumps a proper go again.
They'd never admit as much out loud but it seems fairly clear to me that that's what they've done, and as I say, I actually think it's a smart strategy, sadly.
