Rite of Passage today
A long long time ago, when the world was an altogether more gentle place , I took my six year old grandson to his first competitive game at Carrow Road.
It was carefully chosen as it was that rarest of occasions - a nailed on Norwich win.Something that would ensure that his full strip (inc shin pads) enthusiasm would sustain into adulthood.
We lost 1-0 to Luton Town.
Today, on a glorious autumnal afternoon, my Grandson and I skipped out of Carrow Road after a thoroughly uplifting performance andβ¦.
Went on our first pub crawl together as he turned 18 last week. Kings Arms, Sir Garnet, Steam Packet. Nothing messy but a real great rite of passage.
Iβm a bit misty eyed tonight.
