That's not fair on him
All our defenders appeared to be utterly crap in Wagner's system, which left them with no clear strategy for passing out.
We didn't have that problem under Farke when we had Gibson and Hanley with Skipp in front of them.
That clip you've shared is very strange, because doesn't it show Scotland getting out of the press? And, it's asking quite a lot of him to play international CB having played next to feck all football for 18 months. That decision is on the Scotland manager, not Hanley.
I think there are question marks over whether he's still got the pace he used to have over short distances post injury, perhaps that's what we're seeing when he gave the pen away? Or maybe he just misjudged it?
He's probably unlikely to start many games for us this season, but Knitted Jesus is correct below; leave him alone. He's been a solid pro for us, I've never seen anything that calls into question his attitude.
