Long time ago, I won competition for two tickets to see the World Cup game at France 98

Won it off the back of a Shreddies packet.

It was meant to be an all-inclusive trip but it was woefully organised. No one had any knowledge of us and 10 other people. We drew straws with others to get on the right plane to see the game. Our a hotel with was full of the mafia!!! Some dude with topless ladies next to them and a man all in black holding an umbrella.

The actual football match we were stuck on a minibus took three hours to get there with no Aircon. There was no food available, no drinks, angain wasn’t enough tickets so drew straws - and it was 34°.

I remember people queueing up by a big barrel of water and people were taking their T-shirts and hats off dipping in the water and putting it back on to keep remotely cool.
