In the biggest league in the world, because at some point they will start selling matches for a fiver a pop on mobile phones globally.
Economies ate poorly distributed these days for a whole bunch of reasons, but it is winner takes all - and like hoogle, Facebook etc the Prem is clearly the winner, and will devour the lions share of global footy consumption. They don't care about 5 year returns. They are betting that in 10 years, even small prem clubs will bring in 10mm per week from streams.
