In the grand scheme of things, applying for a work permit is not that costly for the club.

I would expect if they are seriously interested in him, they would do this given he doesn’t meet the criteria and the process could have taken a long time. I understand there is a special desk for football related casework, but even so this seems to have gone smoothly. Outside of football, my experience is that it can take up to six months to process.

That is of course assuming this chap isn’t talking out of his arse.
