Whilst I agree the EPL is rubbish.....

I think promotion, and the EPL money that comes with that, is the only thing that separates us from all of other "also rans" in the championship. And there are loads. I don't want us to be hacking around in the Championship for the next 10 seasons, occasionally flirting with the playoffs, sometimes fighting relegation. I'd rather have alternate rubbish EPL seasons and great Championship seasons.

To your first question, I don't know how many we'll sell. Got to be a good chance Sara goes. And a reasonable possibility one of Rowe or Sarge goes. We would have money to spend, but we would be unlikely to replace with players that are as good as the ones we sell, at least in the short term.

If we don't go up, I'd give us a very, very slim chance of autos next season, even in a supposedly weaker league. Although, I suspect it won't be a weaker league, sides like Boro, Cov, maybe Hull, Sunderland will be better next season, and there will be two from WBA, Leeds and Saints still here, plus the three relegated sides. Not sure there will be such good teams at the top, but don't think the overall standard will be lower. Frankly there have been a lot of sides this season that have been dreadful for a good chunk of it.

So maybe we would have a better chance of auto next season than we had this season, but a much longer shot than winning our next two games.
