all depends on who is on the radar to replace him

and how we do.
Same as it ever was.

Every change is a throw of the dice & the (potential) destabilisation has to be accounted for too. There's a number of clubs have managed the manager churn quite effectively for a stretch, but it has a cost, that I'm not sure we'd be comfortable paying.

I think they key-est point is how he is in terms of player development, and what he can get out of the players we have.

In those terms I think he's not a bad fit - we've had a number of players really kick on under him - though people inside the club would have a better idea of whether he's played a key role in that (or held them back, by taking a long time to get the best out of them).

In other fields, I'd say it's pretty hard to get people performing consistently well under you if you've hampered them earlier & it really didn't look like the players were disengaged during our rubbish patch.

If there's a great young coach who could make their name with us, that Knapper has sounded out, then I think it'd be fair to roll the dice.

But Wagner has promoted a limited team in the past, and kept them up. There's always an element of luck in any of these things, but he doesn't seem as bad a manager as some like to paint.

I'm sure the people at the club who are making the decisions have a better/more complete view of it than all the speculation - so it'll be interesting to see eitherway.
