I was hearing the other day that the statistics around
the 3rd placed team having mental baggage and therefore being a better team to face, actually show the opposite. More teams finishing third have won the playoffs than teams finishing 6th.
They are third for a reason, they are the third best team in the league over 46 games and statistically speaking are better placed to beat the 6th best team.
It’s fine margins I know, but the statistics disprove the ‘psychological baggage’ idea
