Press news in...

David Wagner's press conference ahead of this weekend's game against Bristol City will take place at 12:30.
-------------------------------------------------------

DW on team news: “Lungi is back in training since Tuesday. Grant (Hanley) has a high possibility of being back in training next Tuesday ahead of Swansea.”

DW: "No problems with Rowe, he had a good week and this week so far. He will be involved again on Saturday. He is not ready to start at the moment, he was out for two and half, three months. We've seen what kind of impact he can bring and it's great to have him back."

DW: “As long as we win, I don’t care what the others are doing. Bristol are the inform team in the league, they are very energetic. I would not be surprised if next season they are in the mix (for play-offs)”

DW: “We have to be focused on ourselves. Confidence, come on, we should all have the biggest chest. You can take no result for granted. But you can feel it in training and in the dressing room, they are hungry and greedy for more.”

DW on experienced players: “We missed this at the end of last season. The mentality and mindset. The aim was always clear, we wanted to go for promotion. We know it’s not done. 71 points will not be enough for a playoff place.”

DW on Ashley Barnes: “I don’t know how he gets judged from the outside. I know, that opposition managers don’t like to face him. He is tactically so good and you can rely on him. He will fight for every ball, and you feel this desire when he crosses the white line.”

DW: “I will not swap our strikers for any strikers in this league. They have a mix that you love to have and deserve all the credit they get.”

DW on Gabriel Sara: “He is above average in more or less all departments and lots are top. He is one of the most interesting players in the Championship.”

DW on Sam McCallum: “He is great in the air and super good with the long throw-ins. He made some good steps, but can still improve. He wanted to move on last summer, but I had honest conversations with him and asked him to give us another year.”

**David Wagner wants to see Sam McCallum sign a new contract**

DW on the fans: “There will be more or less the same people in the stadium. Don’t show the atmosphere because of the opponent. Show it for your team and hopefully we can get a result on Saturday.”

DW on FA Cup replays: “I’m German and we don’t have replays. I like it (no replays). It’s one game and it’s live or die. It’s difficult for a manager what the schedule is like for the next weeks.”

That concludes today's press conference 🤝
