Q: Why the need / desire for young players?
It’s not like we’re going to get extra years out of them, as they all leave after about the same number of seasons, no matter what age. Often they go quite cheaply. They often have no extra allegiance to the club. Yet many supporters of most teams seem to want their team to be full of youngsters. Why is this?
No judgment here, just curious. My own opinion is that I’d rather we had good players, no matter their age. We got good service out of Roberts and Huckerby and they weren’t young.
