I remember when medal winners in ceremonies just stood, solemnly staring at the flag, maybe with a tear of joy and pride rolling slowly down a cheek. Nowadays if you’re not bellowing out the second verse of the anthem, that nobody sings, purple-faced with orgastic (yes, it’s a word) overwhelming rage, you’re not worthy of the nation.
Personally I’m soiling myself with fury right now.
