And that's exactly what's happening down the road

Their squad really is a stay-in-the-chumps squad (Don't Get Relegated) but he's got them flirting at the top which is a massive achievement for them.

Leeds are simply better and have a better run-in. Scum's hope has to be to flat-track-bully it through to the end of March and rely on momentum carrying them through April.

It's still possible they'll make autos but I think it's far, far more likely they'll choke again at the end, and having done so, enter the playoffs with all their momentum in the wrong direction.

They also rely heavily on not having injuries, of course. We're in that same boat too. Odds are scum make the playoffs and we're seventh or eighth or something like that, but if we do make them it means our players are fit and the momentum will be with us then who knows what will happen.

If either of us does go up it will be brutal next term. What we did under Lambert - stay up having double-promoted from League One - I simply don't think is possible any more because of how the Prem has moved on since those days. Scum would have to replace more or less their entire squad and you can't get a new XI to gel in just a few weeks. We would also have to replace chunks of our own squad, though not as many as them.

What does make me chuckle is when people refer to Leicester, Leeds and Saints as "basically Prem teams". No, they're not. They're teams who didn't compete in the Prem last term because they weren't good enough. Being a top Champs side is a massive gulf from finishing 17th in the Prem and that gulf gets bigger each season.
