Had a pretty long run did the old Yellows, so much competition for that type of food...

Norwich City has announced that its Yellows restaurant will revert to only being open on matchdays.

A club spokesman explained that it is "no longer viable" for Yellows Bar and Grill to open on non-matchdays.

It has been confirmed that the Carrow Road restaurant will close as a standalone venue after its evening service this Saturday.

It will continue to open for food and drinks on matchdays and will still be available for private hire.

Yellows was previously closed on non-matchdays in 2018.

However, it returned to full opening hours after the pandemic in 2021 and was given a fresh look.

That saw City's joint minority shareholder and famed TV cook, Delia Smith, purchase 101 paintings by local artist Nick Chinnery and use them to fill the restaurant's walls.

A Delia's Canary Catering spokesman said: "It is with regret that we have made the difficult decision to close Yellows Bar and Grill.

"Yellows Bar and Grill will continue to open on matchdays serving food and drinks before and after the match and will also be available to hire as a private venue.

"Unfortunately, due to reduced footfall and the road outside continually being closed, Yellows Bar and Grill is no longer viable as a standalone restaurant on non-matchdays.

"We thank all our customers for their support."
