But are any other football fans really any different? Football fans crave hope, and I can see why palace fans feel like they don’t have any. The football is dull, the results aren’t great (getting thrashed by your rivals is never good) and there’s no real prospect of anything a great deal better.
That’s the magical world of modern football.
