🎤 At Coolknee for David Wagner’s pre-Hull press conference.
-------------------------------------------------------
DW: “Forshaw is ill, so will not train today. We have to assess Grant’s (Hanley) back injury in the next 10-14 days. It’s not a major issue but we need to be careful.”
DW: “Ui-Jo (Hwang) has done well once he got back to match fitness. He is a hard working striker, who can score goals. I really like him and wish him all the best.”
DW on pressure: “I don’t take much attention on this. It’s about us to change it - it was a different feeling at the start of the season. We now have this feeling again because we haven’t won in four games.”
DW on streaky results: “It’s not about looking back and having concerns. It’s about moving forward and winning football matches.”
DW: “There is togetherness in the dressing room and we have said this. This is important to getting back to winning football matches. It’s the nature of supporters that if your team win you are happy or if they lose you are not happy.”
DW: “We have to improve in a lot of areas and get consistency in results. We have a super platform to build off here. Nobody should forget that everybody in this league is super competitive.”
DW: “If the question is are we happy with the position we are in? No. We want more points and to be higher up the table. We have to change it and we will change it.”
DW on incomings: “I don’t know. We have to wait, but the window is open for a while.”
DW: “We have identified areas and targets, but it’s nothing I like to speak about in public.”
DW on Hull: “We saw how competitive the first game was against them. You can see the signing they have made today, they are being competitive. We are prepared for this challenge.”
DW: “We need to speak about the truth. We had five regular guys not playing in the team. The players who had the opportunity (against Bristol Rovers) were not able to take it.”
DW on Kenny McLean: “He has done fantastic as a centre-half. He has played well throughout his career in midfield. It depends on the players available and the opposition as to where we play him.”
