My worry is that these days a negative feeling about the club is a far more difficult thing to shake off, once it has taken hold.

50 yrs ago if you were unhappy you didn't go to games. Today there are thousands (of ST holders) who will attend most CR matches even while unhappy (and choose to boo players/board/employees).

Interestingly, the Lap of Dishonour last May was not the hotbed of abuse you might expect. Few, if any of the boo-ers could be bothered to stay behind.

And 50 yrs ago the media reflected fact & reportage, rather than their own opinions.
