tbf you habitually focus on missing the target

ground expansion isn't necessarily needed but the real elephant in the room is that it is ground improvement that is really needed.

it's an 80s stadium not nearly geared up to maximise revenue from match days and provide a positive matchday experience. football aside the matchday experience is pretty rank, who wants to watch two prats dicking about in zorbs or being in a concrete cess pit under the stand eating cold dogs and drinking flat overpriced ale? the queues for the womans bogs are horrendous as the provison thereof based upon 80s attendances has long since changed as more women attend games these days. the queues at the kisoks/bars are mental and the staff are largely cluless and not geared up to cope. it (the stadium) needs updating to bring it 40 years plus forward. it's not that it isn't fit for purpose per se, it's just not optimised to maximise revenue stream because it is so out of kilter and anachronistic. no fan park, no large venue for pre/post match hospitality that could be opened up for major sporting events like the euros, world cup, olympics, private functions. such a myopic waste of a business opportunity/improved revenue stream. i suppose they do make a few bob from take that/elton john now and then during close season but there's so much untapped opportunity.
