I read a report about a decade ago
that stated aviation fuel was not possible to replace with renewables because it burns at such a high temp and that you would need to carry so much more biofuel to power a plane that the weight/power ratio would not make sense.
The premise of the report was that oil will be around for the foreseeable future for that reason.
The technology has come on so far since then - great to see!
