We await David Wagner for today’s press conference 🟢🟡
----------------------------------------------------------------

DW on Webber/Knapper changes: “I wasn’t involved or updated in this process. I will meet Ben during the international break. I spoke to him yesterday by phone and this is the situation. Everybody knows how much I rate Stuart (Webber). I wish him all the best.”

DW on Stuart Webber: “The truth is, when we had the conversation in January before I joined, we discussed the possibility about the medium/long-term future about him leaving this football club. I was aware this could happen, but I was surprised when it did.”

DW on Knapper: “Yes, of course. We have spoken about the situation and he has judged it quite well. He said keep going as you have all the support. I feel this support from all sides, but we have to do better. Delia and Michael phoned me to say they back me.”

DW: “Delia and Michael can see the injury crisis and they are aware of it. I have been in this business a long time and I know we need results. It’s great to be in a football club when we had the good period. This is a great football club with great people.”

DW on his future: “We had discussions about the situation we are in and how we get out of this as soon as possible. My position isn’t as strong as eight weeks ago. Our aim is to turn it back to where it was.”

DW on his job post-Cardiff: “Fear never helps in this job. You need to be as calm as you can. I have to give the players trust and belief.”

DW: “If somebody lets me down then this would be on purpose. I treat my players like my own children, so I don’t see them as letting me down. Do I want to see more fight? Yes, I’ve let them know. You must to deliver this to turn it.”

DW: “It’s simple as apart from conversations with the press, I don’t see this on social media. I learnt from myself more than 10 years ago, when I’m in the media it costs more energy than it gave me. I decided not to be in this world.”

DW: "Adam Forshaw is out until the start of December and Shane Duffy is suspended."

DW on Grant Hanley: “He played his first minutes last Friday. We need to decide if he will be involved with us tomorrow or the U21s.”

DW: “Danny Batth is an unbelievable professional. It hasn’t been easy for him since he arrived as he was cup-tied for Fulham. Our centre backs were playing well. I am happy to have him in the building. I will close my eyes and have no fear about playing him.”

DW: "Jacob Sorensen has had another surgery, he will be out until Christmas/New Year."

DW on Cardiff: “Different form at home than away. They play more football than in recent years. It’s a test and a proper challenge. We know what is in front of us. Our aim is to get the points.”

DW: “We were not clinical against Blackburn, despite winning lots of high turnovers.”

DW on Webber: “If someone stays for seven years in a football club in his position then you have done lots right. I didn’t see the training facilities seven years ago, but everybody tells me this is now one of the best.

DW: “What Stuart (Webber) created here will be important for the next ten years. Even in this difficult run now, we still have a mid-term plan. We need to make sure this club can produce players and value in the future. He has generated big transfer fees for this club.”

DW: “It meant a lot to me. I’ve known from other people that I have full support from the owners and board. She picked the phone up at the right time to me. To hear her opinion was important, they see the reasons like I do. She is so smart and intelligent.”

DW: “Delia and Michael care lots for this football club. But it’s still important we get results.”

DW on similar periods at other clubs: “I had lots of great moments and lots of periods where I had to suffer. The players win the games, it’s not about me. I deal with the public and media. It’s about how we can turn it and not about me”

DW: “We still have 75% of the season ahead of us. I don’t look behind only forward. We need to look at the next game and how we get the points and a clean sheet.”
