It really is a total mess

Every week we play a system that exposes all our weaknesses. Absolutely maximises the amount of time our Bambi on ice defenders spend with the ball in hugely dangerous areas. We have full backs bombing on leaving us exposed but still not really creating much, a midfield that offers no protection to defence yet creates little. I do get that we have key injuries upfront, but playing this system we have the worst defence in the league. Let that sink in. The worst defence in the league. If you want to play this system, then quite simply you don’t have Duffy and Gibson as your two CBs. Carnage will and is ensuing.

And nothing is changing. We’ve been without Sarge for ages. We’ve been shipping a simply enormous volume of chances for an age. And nothing is changing. DW seems incapable of identifying anything that might stop us shipping chances/goals. Is the plan that we just keep doing this till Sarge comes back in Jan, in the hope that it will then magically start to work? We’ll be in the bottom 3 if so.

I could then run on about the absolutely hideous track record of Webber pretty much every season since the first couple, the Farke/Emi/Pukki spell. Since then, it’s been garbage. Really poor track record of recruitment, terrible head coach decisions, seemingly really poor back room staff decisions, players going backwards, slow but continued erosion of squad value. Looks to me like we’re down to two assets with much sell on value. Duffy on a 3 year contract? Genius.

Plus the absolute shambles of a married couple having it seems absolute power to run the club day to day how they like, despite the mounting evidence they’re doing an appalling job. All overseen by another married couple who think it’s all great and can’t see the completely broken governance arrangements.

Honestly, if I was Attanasio I’d be taking my money back and getting the hell out. This club is a mess, in every aspect on and off the field. This isn’t an opportunity. This club is a bottomless pit into which an investor might tip endless pots of money to no end.
