How true.

The sacking of Daniel was a turning point but not the sort we are looking for now. I recall being incredulous when I read the BBC report. It was always supposed to be the case that we had a succession plan. The appointment of Smith, who was not available the day Daniel was sacked, completely disproves that contention. My view is that they were hoping to get Eddie Howe who was out of work at the time and had it not been for the Beheaders taking over Newcastle at almost the same time, that might have happened. When they knew they couldn’t get him they went into a tailspin and took what was available.
The other turning point happened in that close season when fan power ensured that we were not sponsored by the misogynistic betting company that was going to pay us £4m for the honour. Webber went apes**t at that which goes to prove exactly the kind of guy he is. Just go for the money whatever the ethics might be. We will be well rid. What worries me is what comes next.
