As ever, it depends on the terms of the contracts. The club won’t instantly pay up the rest of his unexpired contract on the day they wave goodbye to him, it will be paid in stages (probably monthly) and only until the point at which he gets another job. And he will be obligated to look and apply for jobs (not to mention he will actually want to get another job).
I believe that’s how it generally works but as ever, everything is up for negotiation. Pep would have a strong negotiating position so would probably have a clause in his contract stating if he were to be sacked he would get full pay, on the day regardless of getting another job. I don’t think Wagner would have that power! Or any of his coaching staff
