This fast start and subsequent successive falling away seems to be in Wagner's DNA.
We should have the resources to put teams like Plymouth and Coventry to bed, even with the existing squad.
Failure to be in the mix for a top six finish will I'm sure be viewed as abject failure by someone who has been part of the Arsenal renaisaance.
There is no point in bringing him or the American in, if we're not going to be more ruthless in the face of apathetic performances over a long period.
Injuries have no doubt cost us, but not to the extent we are seeing and Coote is right when he talks about a scenario we've all seen before and which we recognise as malaise (again).
