The VAR crew needs to stop the game if they are feeling rushed. They need to bring over the ref to take a look, to reconsider.
Purists will argue that stopping the game hurts it but then you can't moan when refs make split second decisions incorrectly.

Doing away with would lead to more incorrect big decisions every game and having just one person influence the game (open to corruption)
