My point with Jim was really just that we can’t tear up employment law just because we don’t want him to go.

I don’t know much about non-compete clauses, but I would think they’d be unusual in this context. Might make it hard to get good people in if that were a term? Or they get bought out?

I agree, the structure could be improved. But I think if Webber is going, end of the summer transfer window is the best time.
