I think there’s a massive step up from league 1 to the Championship

I agree with you, they do seem to have momentum, but how good actually are their players?

Also, how much are their owners going to spend this summer? Sunderland brought in 14 players last summer (excluding loans, which were another 3 players). Then there’s all the teams in the league that have come down from the PL or otherwise have rich owners.

I reckon they should stay up without too much bother, but I’m not sure there’s any reason to think they’re going to be competing at the top end of the league (not that it’s particularly likely we will either) without spending serious cash. The only way that could be wrong is if they have excellent players already. Maybe they do, I don’t know much about them.
