Determining factor for me was uncertainty in 2yrs

Rates should ultimately be going down so my 5 yr fix might not be the best deal overall, but I don’t want to be remortgaging in 18-24 months when I think there will still be lots of political uncertainty.

I think I’m paying too much but 5yrs of not having to give it another thought is quite nice.
