The issue I have is I can't see any way to improve our midfield

given the players available.

And I can't see how we can improve upfront with the players available given what we really need it an outlet to relieve pressure.

In the absence of either of those things happening, we'll give up the midfield and the pressure will be relentless as we won't be able to push our defensive line much beyond the 18 yard box.
