It's not about whether they can "do" anything
They can't, because they don't live in a democracy
But at the moment they are being fed propaganda by Putin that Russia has gone into Ukraine to save ethnic Russians from genocide, and lots of them believe that. So a consequence of very high profile foreigners (like football managers, or indeed players) leaving in disgust might be to make them question what's really happening.
But that isn't really why DF should leave. He should leave because, frankly, it's obviously the right thing to do.
