Yeah. Thing is…
It’s all well and good for Webber to come out and rile the fans up. All for one and one for all. Never give up. Never surrender! I mean I love it…
But it massively ramps up the pressure on Sunday. The team now NEED to deliver something. I don’t even mean a win. I mean a bust a gut, run through walls, into every 50:50 like your life depends on it, sprinting, not jogging kind of thunderbastard performance. If they do, then I genuinely think it doesn’t matter whether we get points. We’ll all say fair play, we gave it a right good go. (Personally that’s all I ever ask.)
The problem will be if they serve up a turd and particularly if we fall behind. We’ve kind of been promised a who dares wins all out effort. If we get a Watford or Chelsea style performance now, everyone is going to feel short changed. As our friend USAC says, that’s when the monkey tilting will start, big time.
In a way, Webber might have just unintentionally made Leeds an even bigger deal than it was before.
