There is a scientific explanation for the phenomenon
Basically it's to do with the heat which causes people to be outside more or have their windows open at home and workplace so they are more aware of unusual external sounds as they are more likely to be noticed plus, as they are louder and chances are you are more tetchy in the heat then the factor of annoyance goes up exponentially. Further studies revealed that if it isn't that, then it might be something else.
