and there it is, yet again. When and how did it come to this, this mobilisation of culture war? Even when it comes to the f*cking RNLI. Everywhere. Unbelievable.

10 years ago I met Americans who talked like this - was the ‘other side’, and particularly the ‘liberal elite’, everywhere. I remember thinking, God forbid this ever reaches us. Wow it has, and in spades.
