How is the test/trace etc method

supposed to work in a place like London?
It sounds like a logical approach, but completely impractical.
In a place like the UK it's just a matter of "managed infection" surely - so the NHS can cope at any one time (which reduces deaths too, and the indirect deaths not recorded as "Corona deaths" but caused by it - eg other ops cancelled - so the headline figures are slightly misleading in any event i suppose). Ultimately, the countries that cope best may be the countries with the best appropriate medical care (or the v little countries where you can realistically test, isolate etc etc)
