Imagine if they finished the season on current standings?

Aston Villa have a game in hand and if they win, they go out of the drop zone. That is why, finishing the season on current standings cannot be done. Same argument for Sheffield United who would be in the final Champions League spot if they win their game in hand. Two options are to cancel the season null and void or resume when safe to do so and then start 2021/2022 season two months after the completion of current campaign.
