Sorry for those who don;t want to read this stuff but just read that

140,000 people have lost their jobs in Ireland since it went into lockdown a couple of days ago.

Pretty frightening that when you think that we could be in for the long haul here. You have to wonder how some people are going to survive financially if the high street economy and businesses that rely in consumer spending such as the travel industry just implode.

Without prejudicing social distancing efforts, we must find ways to try and support local businesses where we can. My local pub has set up a delivery service for those self isolating and we will make sure we use it regularly to try and keep them ticking over if we all end up stuck at home.

I wobble almost daily in terms of whether or not I trust the strategy but today I am veering back towards trusting the government/experts over this.
