i'm now thinking of what positives can be taken from this

such as the benefits that can be gained from people working from home such as less travel and assosiated damage to the environment and I think companies will make greater use of this and in turn this will reduce pressure on infrastructure, public transport, emergency services, less road repairs, cleaner streets etc.

Extend that logic to e-schooling for elder children that can stay at home safely. less time would need to be spent at school meaning higher teacher to children ratios for the kids that need to be at school as too young to be home alone ergo, smarter kids.

i'm sure there will be other positives to fall out of it as well but the basic lesson learnt is "stay at home" if everyone had stayed at then home things would have been fine.
