"Your fellow citizens will be treated in the hallways." some context...

my frau contracts sepsis 5-6 weeks ago, i took her to A&E after contacting 111 and a doctor called back within an hour and after i described the symptoms he told me just get her to A&E "don't wait for an ambulance just get her to A&E". we go.

Got to A&E and it was f**king heaving. this is 5-6 weeks ago.

eventually assessed by nurse afer about 2 hours. my lady has sepsis and she is crashing rapidly. 5 and a half hours or thereabouts later she is examined by a doctor and has bloods taken. we are sent back to waiting room.

this is 5-6 weeks ago.

doctor comes back and tells me she has sepsis and needs treatment right away. the treatment is done in a heaving waiting room. this is 5-6 weeks ago.

he tells me she must be admitted but there are no beds so there might be a "bit of a wait". he is right, there is a bit of a wait. all night. there are no beds. this is 5-6 weeks ago.

i eventually go home at around 0600 in the morning to let the fenton out and get her some overnight stuff. she calls me just after 0700 and says there are no beds the doctor has told her she might as well go home so i pick her up and bring her home. this is 5-6 weeks ago.

That's our healthcare system that is, before all of this. If you do get ill and get treated in a hallway then i reckon that you will have done very well.
