All fair points.

The thing about English football is there's 30-35 clubs who think being in the Premier League is their 'rightful place'. And well: 30-35 doesn't go into 20!

You're also right about when we started watching football mattering with lists such as these. Because when I started watching football, Fulham were an old Third or Fourth Division club. But then again, so were Brighton a bit after that time. And Cardiff as well.
