Yep. He's the master of distraction.
We all knew that he was a busted flush; nothing without Culverhouse. A good motivator of players and fans, yes and, back then, an eye for a player but it was always Culverhouse who had the football brains.
A huge part of his success here was built on the firepower of Holt, Chris Martin and Wes - all three he inherited.
It was obvious even within a few games last year he wasn't going to turn the Binners round and I couldn't believe the amount of faith their fans still had in him, even when he took them down with the most pathetic of whimpers. I guess they were desperate to cling on to anything and that's why they so easily swallowed the patronising PR nonsense he served up to them time after time.
