Get down the Nike outlet store at Riverside. Serious bargains

Down there, especially the stuff found the back and side walls (although APjnr reported that the extra discount signs weren’t on yesterday). At that age most boots will do but stick to Adidas or Nike to save your little-un’s cred. I know it sounds daft but it’s important to the kids. You can get either at the same price as Sondico (Sports Direct own brand) if you look about. At the Nike outlet they won’t have the complete range but that won’t matter, you’ll get something good for a good price.
How it works there is on the aisle shelves (left is men’s, right is ladies) they have larger batches of boots and trainers, all way less than RRP. Round the side and back walls there are online/customer returns (as new though)which are also discounted and often have a further discount applied which varies each week. A lot of older kids, including APjnr look through these, buy them and resell online for a profit.
As your son progresses he’ll find a brand and style that suits him. Heavier boots for defenders, lighter ones for fancy footed strikers.
Be aware that different brands fit differently and that the first size you see on a Nike box is a U.S. size.
Get them to try on with the actual football sock and shin pad, especially if they’re going to wear a shin pad which is joined to the foot.
Over the years APjnr has used full screwin studs,blades, mouldeds, astros and trainers but in general you’ll probably just need a good all rounder with moulded studs/blades.
