Last season the bottom 5 had 8 or 9 points and Newcastle in 13th had fewer points (12) than 17th West Ham (13) have

Previous seasons at the same stage, 17th place had 11, 11, 10, 11, 13, 11, 11, so it is unusual to be this far off safety
